New AML/CTF Requirement

From 1 July2026, Australian real estate agencies are legally required to comply with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing(AML/CTF) Act.

To ensure all property transactions remain compliant, we are required to collect customer identification and verification documents before proceeding with certain property transactions.

Required Documents

The documents required will depend on your client's purchasing or ownership structure.

Individual Client
Please provide:

• Personally Identifiable Information (Full Name, DOB and Occupation etc.)
• Proof of Identity (Passport or Driver Licence)
• Proof of Current Residential Address
• Source of Funds
  Depending on the circumstances and risk assessment, additional documents may be required.

Company Client
Please provide:

• Company Details
• Director Identification
• Beneficial Owner Identification
• Nature of Control & Ownership Percentage
• Source of Funds (if applicable)
  Depending on the circumstances and risk assessment, additional documents may be required.

Trust/SMSF Client
Please provide:

• Trust Deed
• Trustee Details
• Corporate Trustee Details (if applicable)
• Beneficial Owner Identification (if applicable)
• Source of Funds (if applicable)
